What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a major part of traditional Chinese medicine that originated more than 4,000 years ago. It is based upon the Chinese philosophy that one’s health depends on balance of the entire body. A healthy body has a is balanced with an endless flow of “Qi” or life force circulating the body through a series of complex channels called meridians. If the flow of energy is blocked, one will develop physical and/or emotional symptoms. By stimulating the correct acupuncture points along these meridians, energy is redirected and regulated, Ying and Yang us balanced, physical and emotional wellbeing is restored.

Acupuncture is Safe & Effective

Acupuncture is a safe procedure that provides relief but is very gentle and soothing. Many patients are so relaxed that they fall asleep. All Acupuncture needles are sterile and are only used once.

Doctor Frank Yong Liu is licensed acupuncturist in California, and holds

Dr. Liu comes from a family of traditional Chinese medicine. His mother was a well-known professor at the Shandong Medical University and has served as the Director of Acupuncture Department of the Affiliated Hospital of SMU. From an early age, Frank Liu has studied the basics of Tuina Massage, acupuncture techniques and Chinese Medicine with his mother. He received the Certificate of Acupuncture and Tuina from Qilu Chinese Medical University in 1989. Through internships with various professors and experts in the field, he has accumulated vast amounts of knowledge and experience. In 1996, Frank Liu got his Master of Science Degree from Samra University of Oriental Medicine and became a licensed acupuncture practitioner in 1997. In 2015, Frank Liu got his PHD degree of Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from South Billow University
